
May 27, 2009 - Forrester Construction has been selected as the General Contractor for EnviroCenter® Phase II in Jessup, MD. The project is designed for LEED Platinum Certification and to achieve the “Living Building Challenge (LBC)”. The LBC is run by the Cascadia Region Green Building Council (Cascadia). LBC sets the highest standards for sustainability and encourages projects to provide models for the industry to follow.
This Phase II Project consists of site redevelopment of the existing EnviroCenter® site, construction of a new class A professional office space addition, and atrium and rooftop space to be used for food production. The building incorporates a regenerative design and systems, maximizing site density, rainwater reclamation and reuse, passive heating and cooling strategies, renewable energy sources, and green building materials.
The Owner is Environmental Design & Resource Center, LLC and the Architect is Phase2 Architecture, a Division of ASG Integrative Design + Development. Construction is scheduled to begin in the Fall of 2009 and last approximately 10 months.
