Outreach
Forrester’s local, small, and disadvantaged outreach efforts have positioned us as an industry leader. We were the single recipient of ABC’s (Associated Builders and Contractors) Diversity in Construction Award. We received this award because of our dedication and commitment to these businesses, which includes the following initiatives:
- Mentoring and Partnering Relationships with local, small, and disadvantaged firms.
- Attendance at small and disadvantaged business procurement conferences and trade fairs.
- Contributions to industry-sponsored outreach programs that promote business opportunities for these firms, such as the ABC Metro Washington Business Exchange. Forrester has hosted several of these events at our office.
- Development and sponsorship of Forrester’s “Professional and Educational Development Series,” a highly successful mentoring and training program designed to assist small and minority businesses. This series provides an important networking opportunity for subcontractors and suppliers, while exploring critical aspects of business operations and management.
- Participation in the Montgomery County Department of Economic Development and the Office of Procurement’s Program entitled “Linkages: Connecting Minority Businesses to Opportunities,” which was targeted towards helping small businesses find opportunities within the construction industry.
- Support of the Prince George’s County Contractors Development Program, which provides mentor relationship assistance and courses for minority business leaders. Forrester Team Members have taught several sessions for the program.
- Utilization of specific business practices to help disadvantaged and small businesses, including a "Quick" pay policy that sustains these businesses and a strict low qualified price policy.
- There are no Subcontractors events.
