Description:
This new parking facility is located at the White Oak Federal Research Center in Silver Spring, MD. It includes a four-story, approximately 900-car, post-tensioned concrete structure. Three stories are above-grade and one is partially below-grade. The facility’s façade, except the east elevation, consists of low brick knee walls at the entry level with the upper levels constructed of an architectual metal panel system and cable barrier system. The east elevation facade was designed to allow for a future expansion of the garage and therefore does not include the same architectural features of the other facades. The other main features of the facility are glass-enclosed stair and elevator towers.
