Sustainable Design & Construction
Forrester Construction Company has taken a leading role in the industry in 
pursuing an environmentally responsible approach to construction projects. Sustainable Construction is an ongoing key Forrester strategic initiative and has been integrated into the corporate values of the company. Forrester's current LEED™ initiative includes a fully dedicated Director of Sustainable Programs, who is a LEED™ Accredited Professional. In addition, all Forrester Operations Team Members are required to complete the LEED™ certification program. Team Members also receive professional training in environmental compliance through Forrester's own internal curriculum and through programs sponsored by agencies such as the Maryland Department of the Environment's Water Management Administration.
A sampling of Forrester's sustainable construction practices include:
- Use of a Field Guide for Sustainable Construction on all our jobsites
- Salvaging of materials that can be used or recycled during demolition
- Use of recycled materials and extensive reuse of temporary materials
- Conservation of natural resources
- Quality control and commissioning to ensure efficient building system operation
- Indoor Air Quality Management
- Use of locally available materials as much as possible to reduce the energy requirements involved in long-distance transport
