John Shumar
Vice President
John has over 40 years of experience in construction and is known for his ability to form high-performing teams that meet or beat project schedules. John has expertise in complex scheduling, site management, subcontractor relationships, quality control, safety, preconstruction services, and site coordination. He leads Forrester’s Safety Program and engages the whole company in a people-based, safety-first mindset. As Vice President, John forms strong relationships with the subcontractor community, trains the next generation of operations team members, and contributes to critical corporate initiatives.
Mike Barnhart
Construction Executive
Mike is a highly skilled licensed professional engineer with over 30 years of experience building complex projects in a diversity of markets. Mike’s focus on planning and problem-solving results in successful projects that exceed client expectations, and he is equally at home with large scale base building and complicated, phased renovations. He has considerable expertise in site coordination, scheduling, subcontractor management, quality control, and safety. He leads Forrester’s Quality Control program and his attention to excellence results in award winning work and satisfied clients.
Dan Baker
Project Executive
For over 15 years, Dan has helped cultivate some of Forrester’s key markets; biotech, healthcare, and restaurants. He has worked on many notable buildings, managing multiple projects for Adventist Healthcare, the National Institute of Health, and other repeat clients. He applied himself to each role growing at Forrester, from a project engineer to an executive. Dan’s strengths include partnering with clients and subcontractors, construction management processes, and improving business functions. He is known for his energy, passion, and commitment to teaching future Great Builders, traits that make Dan a valuable mentor.
Mark Rolfs
Project Executive
With about 20 years of experience in the construction industry, Mark has been rising through the ranks since completing Forrester’s summer internship program. He has experience in Estimating, where he began his career, and spent many years in Operations. Mark is known for developing our team and advocating for our Project Engineer program. He combines technical expertise with savvy financial acumen to deliver projects that win awards and exceed clients’ expectations. Mark is instrumental in many corporate initiatives, and his highly organized, disciplined approach wins fans throughout the company.
John Ruyter
Vice President of Human Resources
John has over 20 years of experience in Human Resources and is responsible for building Forrester’s most valuable asset – our team. He is skilled at strategic planning and building corporate culture. With experience designing, implementing, and managing best practice HR functions, John has held executive and senior positions in industries like Professional Services, Health Care, and Insurance. John also managed a consulting practice, served as adjunct faculty at Towson University’s HR Development graduate program, and is a past president and Board member for the Chesapeake HR Association.
Don Free
Vice President
Don has over 30 years of experience in the construction industry, spanning public and private work in several markets. As a Project Executive, his expertise included large-scale commercial, education, and public projects. He has built some of Forrester’s signature projects, including the Millennium Project at Arlington National Cemetery and Hubbard Hall at the United States Naval Academy. He leads our Preconstruction and Estimating groups, utilizing his experience, industry connections, and ability to form strategic partnerships with clients and subcontractors.
Glenn Klein
Chief Financial Officer
Glenn has over 35 years of experience in accounting and finance, 20 of which include construction accounting, operations and management, and corporate operations. Glenn is skilled in guiding financial decision-making, improving accounting processes, and developing accounting teams. Glenn has worked as a consultant and a C-level executive for growing construction and development companies, for several large subcontractors and general contractors who performed work for the federal government and The White House, and for a large CPA firm.
Nik Salvi
Director of Preconstruction
Nik has over 17 years of experience in the construction industry. Nik gained valuable experience in operations before moving to our Preconstruction Group in 2012. His industry knowledge and expertise allow Nik to create strategic paths for projects. Nik looks beyond the early concept of plans, understands client needs and the design intent, and provides accurate cost data and constructive solutions that ultimately help our clients make informed choices and guide projects toward successful results. With the support of his remarkable team, Nik collaborates with subcontractors to help turn clients’ dreams into reality.
Rachel Hagerty
Director of Business Development & Marketing
For over 20 years, Rachel has been a force in sales and business development. She thrives on cultivating client relationships and strong partnerships to foster growth for Forrester. She collaborates with Operations, Estimating, and Preconstruction to develop relationships, deepen connections in our key markets, and meet our growth goals. Her career spans construction, telecommunications, and security, giving her a broad understanding of the driers propelling major market segments and economic influences. Rachel also leads the Marketing Group in reputation management, advertising, and other communications initiatives.
Eric Impraim
Director of Information Services
Eric directs Forrester’s information technology group, ensuring our teams have the technology they need to succeed, whether working in the field or the office. With over 20 years of experience, Eric is a consummate problem solver who tackles challenges with a calm, steady approach and a relentless focus on meeting the needs of our team. Eric understands and practices Forrester’s mission in all he does and is a tireless champion of our core values. He collaborates closely with Operations and plays an instrumental role in several corporate initiatives designed to streamline processes and help us work smarter.
