Arbor Terrace at Waugh Chapel

The Arbor Terrace at Waugh Chapel is a new construction project located at 2535 Evergreen Road, Gambrills, MD. This new three story retirement facility is a steel and concrete structure utilizing a slab-on-metal decking system. The exterior is predominately fiber-cement lap siding, with brick veneer accents. The facility houses residents in both assisted living and memory care areas.

The 79,500 square foot building is wrapped on the North and East sides by a parking lot that serves the building and on the South and West sides by a wooded conservation area. The facility provides living space for seniors with apartment style residential units, each featuring a bedroom, private bath and closet space, and common areas such as dining areas, kitchens, cafes and outdoor terraces. The Arbor Terrace at Waugh Chapel also features a bistro, gym, library and a hair salon. Residential spaces are climate controlled using packaged terminal air conditioning (or PTAC) units.

The project featured conventional steel frame construction to allow maximum flexibility for future modifications. Speed to market was critical to the Owner and Forrester was able to complete the project 6 weeks ahead of schedule to meet this requirement.
