Rockville Memorial Library

Located in the Rockville Town Center, the Rockville Memorial Library is one of 21 community branches in the Montgomery County Public Library (MCPL) system. For this project Forrester Construction constructed a three-story, 102,000 SF building that houses the Rockville library collection as well as MCPL’s administrative offices.

The Rockville Memorial Library’s first floor offers patrons access to a children’s room, a teen area, a popular materials center, a public meeting room, the library store and librarian work spaces. The second floor includes adult and reference areas, study rooms, a computer lab and an additional public meeting room. The building’s modern design commemorates a significant local event, the first mapping of the human genome.
