The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

Located within the residential DC neighborhood of Mount Pleasant, this project involved the construction of a two-story 33,500 square foot church with an underground parking garage.

The structure is a mix of design elements including concrete, steel, cold-formed metal framing, and wood trusses. The facility was a masonry construction with the entire façade being clad in cast stone, a 100-foot tall steeple and brick site walls along most of the perimeter. The 1.5-acre site also includes two surface parking lots and a large cast in place concrete storm filter structure to prevent sediment from entering the city’s stormwater system.

Throughout the project, the Forrester team was held to tight standards as they coordinated their work with various District departments, as well as neighboring residents so that they could be informed and up to date on the project’s progress.
