The Kennedy Center | Multiple Projects

Forrester Construction has had the honor of renovating and making several improvements on behalf of The Kennedy Center | Multiple Projects committees.  The John F. Kennedy Center is the nation’s busiest performing arts facility hosting 2,000 performances annually. Since being awarded a five year indefinite delivery / indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract, Forrester has performed several important projects.

For the Millennium Stage project, Forrester renovated two identical stages in the Grand Foyer that are used for smaller daily performances. Improvements included upgrading the stage façade with a new proscenium and installing a video wall with nine 60” LED displays at each stage. The three-phased A Level Visitors’ Center project consisted of upgrades to the volunteer lounge and gift shop storefront. These spaces received millwork, terrazzo flooring, display windows, a new tour desk and digital LED pylon displays.

On the building’s East Plaza, Forrester completed a phased replacement of the stone pavers and trench drains. Infrastructure improvements were also made to the building’s service tunnel including resurfacing and full depth structural repairs to the loading docks.
