Blanchette Rockefeller Neurosciences Institute

The Blanchette Rockefeller Neurosciences Institute Foundation focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of neurological and cognitive disorders. For this project Forrester Construction constructed the foundation’s state-of-the-art, three-story academic and research facility on the grounds of Johns Hopkins University’s Rockville campus.

The academic spaces include 18 smart classrooms, four computer laboratories, faculty offices and student lounges. The foundation’s research functions are located on the third floor featuring laboratory spaces, tissue culture rooms, an aquarium, environmental rooms and office support areas. Construction of the laboratories required installation of fume hoods, reverse osmosis/deionized water systems, epoxy welded flooring, lab gas systems and Category 5 enhanced telecommunications.

The building is comprised of structural steel, precast concrete and glass curtainwall system with composite metal panel entrance canopies.
