Creative Minds Public Charter School
The Creative Minds Public Charter School is known for their International Primary Curriculum, which is an art and project-based program concentrated on academic, social and emotional development. For this CM At-Risk project, Forrester Construction provided extensive preconstruction and construction management services to renovate the 100-year-old historic Sherman Building at the Armed Forces Retirement Home for the school.
Construction consisted of full demolition and HAZMAT removal from the portion of the building leased by the school. New construction put-in-place included topping slab, partitions, new mechanical and electrical systems, new doors, frames and hardware, finishes, ceilings, fixtures and accessories as required to meet the school’s program needs. The project also needed a full redesign of the building’s mechanical system to meet historic preservation requirements.
