Georgetown University Research Labs

Located in the Woodglen Park I building in Rockville, the Georgetown University Research Labs primarily perform highly specialized bone marrow research. For this project Forrester Construction built out laboratory space tailored to suit the unique nature of the research performed at this facility.

Spanning one and half floors and 30,000 SF, the completed facility features clinical laboratories, tissue culture rooms, pre-PCR rooms, freezer rooms, a specialized server / communications space, conference areas, executive offices and open work spaces. Custom elements in the clinical laboratories include separate student observation areas and metal casework with epoxy counter tops. The laboratory also required the installation of high-end mechanical and electrical systems outfitted with an emergency generator, fire dampers and fume hoods.
