Studio Theatre

Studio Theatre encompasses 53,532 SF and is comprised of three buildings that were joined together over the years as the theatre expanded. The scope included the renovation of the Metheny Theatre in the North Building into a black box space theater which can be reconfigured to accommodate 300 patrons, and features which included a completely new audiovisual and theatrical lighting system and a new tension wire grid. It also included the renovation of the third-floor offices, and restrooms and public spaces throughout all three buildings.

Extensive restorative work was performed on the exterior facades along 14th and P Street. The newly renovated theatre features a box office that was relocated to the front of the building, exposed brick walls and bleached wood floors paired with sleek white countertops. The walls and furnishings throughout the three floors consist of black, white and bright yellow accent colors with bold artwork on the walls. The theatre also includes a 1,100 SF all-day café, refreshment bar, lounge spaces, a rehearsal space for the actors, and large windows showcasing the surrounding buildings and a 60-seat patio.
