Washington Adventist University Music Building

For this project, Forrester Construction erected a new three-story music facility as part of  the Washington Adventist University Music Building.  Washington Adventist University (WAU) is a religious liberal arts college located on 19 acres in suburban Takoma Park, MD.

The state-of-the-art facility was built to address the needs of WAU’s growing music department. It features smart classrooms, libraries, practice rooms, studios, a two-story auditorium, faculty offices and administrative support spaces. The rehearsal and performance spaces feature wood flooring, acoustic wall panels and custom acoustic ceilings designed to enhance sound quality. The structure’s façade is comprised of brick with metal panels, a glass curtainwall and punched windows.

The LEED™ Gold certified facility makes extensive use of sustainable technologies and recycled and renewable materials.
